Just
recently I was talking to a couple of friends at work who mentioned
being in a gallery show. Curiously I asked them to send me the
link and I discovered the Chubby Bunny show! After checking out
the site and looking at the roster I was completely blown away
at the featured artists... so I asked the curator Tragnark, to
send me some information about the show. For anyone out there
who supports art.. don't you dare miss this event! oh, and check
it out, our featured artist Phil
Holland is one of the many on the show.. and Jalil
Sadool, our last month's artist, is also part of the roster.
WAY COOL!

Why
are we drawn to the rabbit, or even more so to the "bunny"
?
As a symbol of ultimate duality and a past as old as time itself,
the rabbit has globally represented moral triumph, promiscuity,
self sacrifice, defenselessness, lust, insanity, fertility, and
ultimately creation, just to name a few. How is it that we have
identified with this cosmic symbol for over 10,000 years? The
answer comes together in an exhibition...the Chubby Bunny Show.
Gallery Nucleus,
Tragnark, Circus Posterus Studios, along with Wheaty Wheat Studios
proudly presents the 2006 Chubby Bunny Show. For the first time,
60 National and International artists representing industries
such as animation, film, toy design, comic publishing, and of
course, the fine art spectrum will share one roof and present
their interpretation of the proverbial question…What exactly
is a Chubby Bunny?
Chubby Bunny’s
roster of artists include established artists such as 3 time Emmy-award
winning artist Eric Radomski, credited with work on the acclaimed
animated series, “Batman: The Animated Series”. Author
and illustrator Michael Gagne’, whose work ranges from the
highly acclaimed “Insanely Twisted Rabbits” toy line
and fine artwork, to published work such as “The Great Shadow
Migration”. Los Angeles pop artist, Anthony Ausgang, whose
work is well established and inseparable from the psychedelic
era. Urban based artist and toy designer, Dez Einswell. Pop surrealist,
Chet Zar, whose direction, fine art, character design is most
noted for videos from the revolutionary band “TOOL”.
Internationally renown graffiti artists from both coasts of the
country, such as Buff Monster and SEEN. French designer, Rolito,
whose collaborative experience includes Playstation, Toy2R, and
the Euro Football League. Richard Vanover, founder of Wheaty Wheat
Studios, and sculptor with experience on projects such as “Monsters
Inc.”, “Tekken 5”, and “Dragon Ball Z”.
Also exhibiting are emerging talents such as Audrey Kawasaki,
Thomas Han, and Craola to name a few.
In
addition to the Chubby Bunny Exhibit…The showroom will be
themed out by Tristan Eaton, creator of the Kidrobot Dunny. Refreshments
and catering will be provided, with live music and DJs, and a
special 10% discount to anyone dressed up as a bunny.
The Chubby
Bunny Show was the brainchild of artist and curator, Tragnark,
who felt that this universal question has been left unanswered
for far too long. His goal was to curate an unprecedented event
that would span every facet of the entertainment industry and
fine art world, allowing the unique integration of today's renowned
leading artists and visioneers. Tragnark is an LA based visual
artist and entertainment designer who exhibits internationally.
He has designed, developed, and generated business interest with
studios such as Warner Bros. and the BBC, as well as projects
for Saks 5th Avenue and The Gotham Group.
The show represents
artists if every kind finding their personal inspiration.. their
"Chubby Bunny".
