Remembering
a Friend: Tomas Rosenfeldt
On Feb 11, 2003, Rhythm & Hues Studios received a company
wide email from it's president, Mr. Hughes. Time stopped, and
a massive amount of forwarding reached every company in the industry
with the news of what was said. The letter read as follows.

Your Dreams
Have you made
goals yet for this year? The
few of us who actually write down their goals are likely to file
them away in a drawer and never look at them again. An alternative
to this is to create a dream board, which is a bold, visual representation
of your goals and what's important to you. Hang your dream board
in a spot where you will see it every day and it will remind you
of your priorities–personal, professional, artistic, altruiustic--
and inspire you to achieve them..

Newkat
Studios Introduces RenderKat
After one year and three months of a "no-coffee" policy,
I am now back to grinding beans every hour. The reason is we are
now entering a new phase of NewKat Studios. We are starting
to release products. Our first product is RenderKat, a render
distribution and management software which distributes renders
and compositing tasks across a network of computers. We thought
that RenderKat's approach to a common step for computer
artists would be a good way to introduce our creative minds to
the commercial software market.

GAME
REVIEW: Panzer Dragoon Orta
Last year at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), I was amazed
when I played the Panzer Dragoon Orta demo at Xbox's booth. Riding
a huge dragon, shooting down bizarre creatures, fighting in a
360 degree environment…I thought Panzer was truly going
to be the next new innovative game. Little did I know, Panzer
Dragoon Orta is Sega's fourth installment of the legendary saga.
The original Panzer Dragoon was released for the Sega Saturn in
1995, and was soon followed by Panzer Zwei and Panzer Saga. The
game was quite popular among the hardcore gaming community; however,
it never really got any mainstream attention.

GAME
REVIEW: Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (GBA)
Way before Buffy hit the movie theaters (yes, it was a movie before
it was a TV show), the Belmont family had been ripping the minions
of Dracula into shreds for generations. Various incarnations of
Castlevania have come and gone; each quite successful and it has
gained a strong following since the first incarnation on the NES
(Nintendo Entertainment System). Now it has been rewarded with
a second foray into the Game Boy Advance. So pack your whip, this
is a big castle.

MOVIE
REVIEW: Daredevil
As with Hollywood, they can’t seem to let go of the current
big budget comic book trend. They tried with the ever-mediocre
Superman series. Then they seemed to go the campy route with the
ill fated Captain America and Fantastic Four (ugh). The Crow did
seem to draw my attention to a serious comic flick, but it was
Batman that really caught my eye. However, with all the big name
stars outshining something as important as STORY, I lost all respect
in Batman.
