In
the meantime, we leave you with a few morsels to read:
The
Dreamers That Do Visual Effects
It’s 2:30am and I woke up to an uncontrollable urge to reflect.
As I opened my eyes and realized where I was, at home –
silently and safetly in bed, I began to cry. This was no cry from
a nightmare or family memory, it was the heartfelt cry that comes
from pure gut wrenching respect and humbling pride that only comes
from inner reflection and thought.
“Where
did this amazing flood of emotion come from?” I asked myself.
As I thought, I returned to last nights experience at the 1st
annual Visual Effects Society (VES) awards ceremony. At the well-attended
black tie event, pioneer effects professionals along side newcomer
craftsmen shared an evening filled with giving thanks to all those
of us in the business of making the impossible a reality in filmmaking.

Metroid
Prime (GameCube)
Ok, so several months ago I had the privilege of reviewing Metroid
Fusion and mentioned using the game link cable for extra goodies.
Well now that I have acquired a Gamecube, it’s time I give
you guys a review from the one and only Metroid Prime!
This seems
to be more of a prequel to the original NES metroid. You are asked
to check on a space station and realize an alien force has invaded
it. After some careful investigation, you see that a giant teradactyl
(the infamous Ridley from earlier Metroid incantations) is the
cause of it. As Samus Aran, you escape the station, only to find
yourself following the troublemaker to a nearby planet. Rather
than nuking the location from outer space (which I would have
done), you decide to investigate more closely and thus a new chapter
in the Metriod saga begins.
